These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Strollable mobile application ("App") operated by Strollable ("we", "us", or "our"), based in British Columbia, Canada.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use Strollable. By signing up, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
2. Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account.
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You may not use Strollable for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions or community guidelines.
3. Community Content
Strollable is built on community-submitted data. When you submit a location, issue report, or any other content:
3.1 You grant us a licence.
You grant Strollable a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive licence to display, reproduce, and distribute the content you submit through the App, including any photos you upload.
3.2 You confirm you have the rights.
By submitting content (including photos), you confirm that you own it or have all necessary rights to grant this licence, and that your content does not infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
3.3 You are responsible for accuracy.
We rely on community members to submit truthful, accurate information. Deliberately false submissions (wrong amenities, fake locations, or malicious reports) may result in account suspension or removal.
3.4 Your contributions are public.
Location names, descriptions, amenity details, and photos you submit will be visible to all users of the App. Your display name may be associated with your contributions.
3.5 We may remove content.
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law, without notice.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent location information
- Submit duplicate locations that already exist on the map
- File false issue reports to harm a business or other user
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or systematically download data from the App
- Use the App to harass, defame, or harm other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems
- Use the App to advertise products or services without our prior written consent
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
5. Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or permanently ban your account if you violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or engage in the conduct described in Section 4 (Acceptable Use) — including submitting false or fraudulent content, harassing other users, or filing bad-faith reports.
- Suspension restricts your ability to submit locations, updates, or reports; your account remains active for browsing and saved places.
- We will generally notify you of a suspension and the reason, though we may act without prior notice for severe or repeated violations.
- If you believe a suspension was made in error, contact us at strollable.vancouver@gmail.com to request a review.
- Creating a new account to circumvent a suspension is itself a violation of these Terms (see Section 2).
6. "Find Change Table" Disclaimer
7. No Warranties
The App and all content within it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times
- Any location information is accurate, current, or complete
- Any specific amenity will be available when you visit a listed location
Community-submitted data reflects conditions at the time of submission and may have changed.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Strollable and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App, including but not limited to:
- Reliance on inaccurate location or amenity information
- "Find Change Table" results that do not reflect actual conditions
- Loss of data, saved places, or account information
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the App will not exceed CAD $50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, where such liability cannot be excluded by law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Strollable and its operators from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Content you submit (including false, inaccurate, or infringing content)
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third party's rights
10. Account Deletion and Data
You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account. Upon deletion:
- Your profile, saved places, and badge history are permanently removed
- Location submissions you made remain on the map as community contributions; your display name is removed from them
- We are not obligated to retain or export your data after deletion
11. Intellectual Property
The Strollable name, logo, design, and all proprietary features of the App are the intellectual property of Strollable. You may not use them without our prior written permission.
Map data displayed in the App is © OpenStreetMap contributors, used under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Public facility data is sourced in part from the City of Vancouver Open Data Portal under the Open Government Licence – Vancouver.
12. Third-Party Services
The App integrates third-party services including Google Sign-In, Mapbox, Supabase, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications). Your use of those services is also subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
